On various machines, I have XP, Vista, 7-RC, & Umbutu and a Macbook. In a regular file cabinet that would just mean a pile of folders on the floor that needed sorting. I feel like that data is still there, the partition was not formatted or anything, just the partition table removed & put back. I put it back in windows and re-made the exact same partition, (perhaps my 2nd mistake) but the data still cannot be read from Mac or Win. I plugged into the mac, but it said nothing was there. Somehow in the tiredness and rush I accidentally deleted the Mac partion of the external HD from the windows disk manager. I had partitioned her HD so she would have a windows drive and a backup drive. I was trying to finish rebuilding my aunts computer before bed and I had my external drive plugged in to put all her data back on the clean machine.
